Description:
The Care Aide Learner position provides an opportunity for students enrolled in an approved Alberta Health Care Aide certificate program to consolidate their knowledge and skills towards competency in the range and complexity of the Health Care Aide. As an unregulated member of the collaborative healthcare team and under the supervision of a regulated nursing professional, you will provide personal assistance such as supporting activities of daily living and support services to patients (clients, residents) who require short-term assistance or ongoing support in accordance with the patient care plan and facility policies and procedures. The activities performed, and level of supervision required are determined by legislation, standards of supervision outlined by regulatory colleges, organizational policy, educational preparation, practice setting, complexity of the patient, level of risk involved, and competency of the Care Aide Learner.
