Are you a skilled and compassionate Cardiology Technologist with a passion for cardiac care? Join our dedicated Electrocardiography team within Foothills Medical Centre (FMC) and Arthur Child Cancer Centre (ACCC) and play a vital role in delivering high-quality diagnostic services. The Cardiology Technologist I will provide portable ECGs across the two sites and analyze, summarize test results, and generate reports for physician interpretation. They will provide expertise in the set-up, calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of equipment and will be required to implement resuscitation measures when necessary. They will precept, orient new staff and students, and provide input into the evaluation of cardiology trainees and/or students. They will also serve as a clinical resource by providing information regarding cardiology technology to staff and patients.
Description:
As a Cardiology Technologist I, you will prepare the patients (clients, residents) for non-invasive cardiac testing to investigate cardiac abnormalities and level of function, including Holter Monitoring, Exercise Tolerance Testing and Ambulatory Monitoring. You will explain procedures and educate patients on equipment function as required as well as collect client history for procedures and document information for physicians. You will analyze and summarize test results, and generate reports for physician interpretation. You will provide expertise in the set-up, calibration, maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment and will be required to implement resuscitation measures when necessary. You will precept, orient new staff and students and provide input into the evaluation of cardiology trainees and/or students. You will also serve as a clinical resource by providing information regarding cardiology technology to staff and patients.

Completion of certificate from an accredited school of Cardiology Technology. Active or eligible registration with the Alberta Society of Registered Cardiology Technologist (ASRCT). Active or eligible registration with the Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists Cardiology Technology (CSCT). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Recent experience in an acute care/hospital setting. Physically capable of performing duties of the role, including the ability walk/stand for extended periods, perform repetitive movements, bend, reach, push, and pull equipment when transporting.
Preferred Qualifications:Proficient with Connect Care (Cupid), MUSE, CardioDay, and GEMS preferred. Proficient with Holter and Event Monitor reading preferred. Recent preceptorship experience is preferred.
