As a Cardiology Technologist II (CT II), this is your opportunity to bring your critical thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving skills to the forefront of advanced cardiac care. You’ll provide expert care to individuals with implanted cardiac devices through a variety of platforms, including in-person consultations, phone assessments, and virtual sessions via Zoom or Microsoft Teams. You’ll be responsible for remote device monitoring, device interrogations, and device programming within the Cardiac Device Clinic, throughout the hospital for inpatients and outpatients and the cardiac OR for implants as required. You’ll work closely within an interdisciplinary team to set clinical standards, shape best practices, select and evaluate new equipment. You’ll be part of something new, exciting, and essential to the future of cardiac care in Alberta. This role is physically and intellectually engaging. Description:

As a Cardiology Technologist I, you will prepare the patients (clients, residents) for non-invasive cardiac testing to investigate cardiac abnormalities and level of function, including Holter Monitoring, Exercise Tolerance Testing and Ambulatory Monitoring. You will explain procedures and educate patients on equipment function as required as well as collect client history for procedures and document information for physicians. You will analyze and summarize test results, and generate reports for physician interpretation. You will provide expertise in the set-up, calibration, maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment and will be required to implement resuscitation measures when necessary. You will precept, orient new staff and students and provide input into the evaluation of cardiology trainees and/or students. You will also serve as a clinical resource by providing information regarding cardiology technology to staff and patients.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of certificate from an accredited school of Cardiology Technology. Active or eligible registration with the Alberta Society of Registered Cardiology Technologist (ASRCT). Active or eligible registration with the Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists Cardiology Technology (CSCT). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Capable of thriving in a multidisciplinary team setting, demonstrating excellent communication skills and adaptability. Physical demands of the job include standing for extended periods of time while wearing lead attire, pushing/pulling/transporting more than 75 lbs on a regular basis, using repetitive motions to complete typing/computer/telephone work, and lifting, bending, and reaching for prolonged periods. As part of the selection process, candidates may be required to complete a theory exam during the interview. Please note that failure to achieve a passing mark on this assessment may impact the final hiring decision.

Preferred Qualifications:

A strong foundation in cardiology, ideally with a minimum of three years of recent experience in a hospital setting. Previous experience using Connect Care in an Ambulatory Clinic environment. Demonstrate excellent reliability, critical thinking abilities, and a solid understanding of adult learning principles.
