Your Opportunity:
Reporting to the Manager of Equipment and Informatics, the Diagnostic Imaging Biomedical Equipment Coordinator will be responsible to assist with all aspects of the DI Biomedical Program including technology consultation, work history data analysis, equipment acquisition planning, development of policies and procedures, safety, quality assurance, and provision of DI Biomed services. The Biomed Technologist is part of a team that supports and advances patient care by applying engineering and managerial skills to healthcare technology throughout the technology lifecycle. The Diagnostic Imaging Biomed Equipment Program is a service that contributes to safe, effective, and fiscally responsible healthcare.
Description:
As the Biomedical Equipment Technologist (BMET) III, you will be responsible for the daily coordination of Clinical Engineering programs and providing guidance and direction to Clinical Engineering staff. As a team member of Clinical Engineering, you will be responsible for providing technical support, including repairs and preventative maintenance for highly complex medical equipment, assisting in the management of technology to ensure equipment safety, equipment reliability, and to deliver the service cost effectively to the health care community.

Completion of a two year diploma in Biomedical Engineering Technology from an accredited Institute of Technology. Active or eligible for registration as a Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) with The Association of Science and Engineering Technology Professionals of Alberta (ASET). Active or eligible for Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET) certification. Possession of a valid driver's licence.
Additional Required Qualifications:Completion of a two-year diploma in Biomedical Engineering Technology from an accredited Institute of Technology and a minimum of six (6) years of relevant experience in Diagnostic Imaging. Travel within and outside of the province may be required on occasion, therefore candidates must possess a valid Alberta driver's license and valid passport. Written and spoken competence in English is required.
Preferred Qualifications:Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) (ex: e-Facilities). Process Improvement and Standardization. Quality Assurance. Project Management. Microsoft Office Suite (advance knowledge of Excel and SharePoint). Leadership training. Diagnostic Imaging equipment training. PACS and RIS training or knowledge. Active or eligible member of Canadian Medical and Biological Engineering Society.
