We’re currently seeking a Casual Audiologist I to join our Allied Health Community Audiology program within the Edmonton Zone. This position offers the opportunity to work out of one of several community-based sites, located in Edmonton and the surrounding area. As a Community Audiologist, you’ll provide services to clients of all ages—from infants (6 months+) to seniors—focusing on assessment, prevention, early identification, and intervention for hearing loss. You’ll also offer recommendations, follow-up care, and may supervise therapy assistants and hearing screeners. This role includes a robust orientation and ongoing practice support, ensuring you feel confident and connected from day one. You’ll be part of a larger Edmonton Zone team that values patient- and family-centered care and supports professional growth. Description:

As an Audiologist, you will be working both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team, where you will be responsible for the screening, identification, assessment and management of patients (clients) presenting with hearing and balance (vestibular) disorders. Your leadership and interpersonal skills will be important to you in supervising students and providing clinical guidance to other staff as appropriate. You will use your clinical expertise to inform program development and planning. You will interpret findings, provide counselling regarding hearing loss and balance dysfunction, and establish appropriate intervention plans to manage and reduce the functional impact of hearing loss. You will provide patients, their families and other professionals with information and recommendations; making referrals to other agencies and professionals as required.

Required Qualifications:

Master's degree in Audiology. Active or eligible registration with the Alberta College of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists (ACSLPA).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Strong organizational skills and excellent interpersonal/public relations skills are required as are excellent communication skills. Previous experience working in a community setting with 6 months of age to seniors. Basic Cardiac Life Support – Healthcare Provider (BLS-HCP). The successful candidate will demonstrate proficiency with interpersonal skills, ability to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with team members, including families and community partners. Self-direction, independent problem solving and decision-making, sound clinical judgment, and critical thinking skills. Time management and prioritization skills, with a demonstrated ability to function effectively within a dynamic, fast paced environment. Integration of patient and family centered care principles in all areas of practice according to clinical practice standards and consistent with the Values of AHS: Compassion, Accountability, Respect, Excellence, and Safety.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preference will be given to applicants with recent community pediatric experience as well as Connect Care scheduling and/or EMR familiarity.
