Minimum bachelor level degree for one of the FMC Allied Health Professions. A valid certificate of registration with the Professional College of the appropriate Allied Health Disciplines. A minimum of 5 years in a health care professional role, ideally in an organization and facility of similar size, complexity and diversity. Recent (within 2 years) formal in scope or out of scope leadership experience. A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development. Equivalence of education and experience may be considered.

Demonstrated ability, and comfort level, with decision making responsibilities, coaching, teaching and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others. Experience and comfort level with having constructive conversations and performance conversations that includes the AHS performance appraisal process with unionized employees. Demonstrated ability to manage change (experience with change management methodologies). Ability to manage human, financial and physical resources within a busy health care environment. Strong track record in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external stake holders. Effective leadership abilities with the ability to motivate and inspire others to achieve common goals. Ability to hold self and others accountable. Ability to foster a climate of cooperation amongst and build solid relationships with public and government agencies, committees and other partners. Ability to develop collaborative relationships within a diverse interprofessional health care team.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience establishing new models of care and effective new staff resource models. Experience in a tertiary acute care facility. Experience and education with Alberta Improvement Way (AIW) process improvement methodologies, LEAN/Six Sigma methodologies or equivalent. Experience in neurology/neurosciences services.
