Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Successfully pass the Stollery Medication Administration exam annually (pass=90%). Previous experience in a charge role capacity. Computer literacy (proficiency with MS Office Suite, Connect Care). Demonstrated strength in clinical nursing and ability to provide front line nursing care. Demonstrated skills to teach/support and mentor staff. Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement initiatives, patient flow, and appropriate resource allocation. Excellent communication and documentation skills and ability to work within a multidisciplinary team in a busy, demanding environment.
Preferred Qualifications:Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS) an asset. Preference will be given to the candidate with minimum 3 years acute pediatric experience. Experience with children with tracheostomies and medical fragile patient populations considered an asset and preferred.
