Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience as a Registered Nurse with a minimum of 2 years recent (within the past 5 years) experience at a 0.50 FTE or greater in the Alberta provincial public/community health nursing programs is required. Comprehensive knowledge of the Alberta provincial immunization program, schedule and standards required Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication / interpersonal skills and high degree of initiative. Demonstrated critical thinking, conflict resolution and problem solving skills. Demonstrated ability to work independently with little supervision, to work well in teams in both zone and site capacities. Demonstrated excellent leadership, organizational, analytical, and decision making skills are required. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with members of a multidisciplinary health care team required. Demonstrated knowledge and skill in keyboarding and computer applications including Meditech, NetCare, word processing (PowerPoint, Word, Outlook), and Internet navigation are required.
Preferred Qualifications:Knowledge of and recent (within the past 2 years) experience with communicable disease control programs in Alberta. Experience with electronic immunization and health care databases is an asset. Currently employed as an AHS Public Health Nurse in Alberta.
