Your Opportunity:

Camrose Home Care is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Home Care Team as Assistant Head Nurse. As Assistant Head Nurse, you will report to the Site Manager providing client and family centered care and case management as required. You will be responsible for the day-to-day coordination of staffing assignments and workload management. You will be responsible to liaison, facilitate, monitor and coordinate education for all staff as per CCHSS and AHS ACE requirements. Responsible for delegations for HCAs as required, coordination and facilitation of orientation of new staff, and arrange for educational in-services and liaise with the AHS educator/e-Doc team to facilitate required education. Be responsible to facilitate the orientation of new staff including HCAs, LPNs, RNs, Admin. You will be responsible for ride alongs and mentorship for HCAs, LPNs and RNs and providing the Site manager and HCA Team Lead with feedback. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. Description:

As an Assistant Head Nurse, you will be responsible for staff assignments, patient flow and acting as a role model, clinical resource and advocate for nursing staff. In addition to providing frontline nursing care, as required, you will take a leadership role in the promotion of quality patient care and the implementation of operational priorities. Your in-depth knowledge and skills, advanced judgment and clinical experience, will assist in providing solutions for complex health care issues at all levels with patients, interprofessional teams, administrators and policy makers. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred. Active registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). RAI-HC training, Case Manager training, Microsoft Office, Excel, Home Care- Connect Care training, etc. Access to a motor vehicle in good repair for work-related travel. Driver's Abstract to be completed by AHS with no GDL restrictions. Current Basic Life Support-Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Minimum of 5 years of Home Care Case Management experience. Minimum of 3 years of Acute Care nursing experience. Management/leadership experience is an asset. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in order to work collaboratively with members of the inter-professional and interdisciplinary team. Demonstrates critical thinking, conflict resolution and problem-solving skills. Excellent computer and literacy skills, time management and prioritization skills. Competence in relevant technical nursing skills and a willingness to learn new skills and demonstrate/mentor same as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Actively integrates Patient and Family Centered Care principles into practice. Demonstrated ongoing responsibility. Actively embraces and participates in change management and helps to foster mentorship related to change management.
