Description:
The Seniors Health Area Manager is a key leadership role in North Zone Operations and reports directly to the Director Clinical Operations. This position is responsible and accountable for providing direction, leadership and organization over the activities of the organizational team in the planning, delivery, and evaluation of Seniors Health services in the North Zone in support of the vision, mission and business plan of Assisted Living Alberta. These activities also will include the integration of various resources to carry out these activities. The position is also responsible and accountable for making key decisions and having direct leadership responsibility for establishing and contributing to the achievement of the goals of Seniors Health within the North Zone. The Seniors Health Area Manager will develop and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders to provide leadership to the operations of Seniors Health within North Zone. The Seniors Health Area Manager is also responsible for: Implementation, operational management, and monitoring of integrated delivery of Seniors Health services and programs. Quality measurement of Seniors Health services and programs. Accountability regarding implementation, monitoring and operational management of legislated provincial Seniors Health standards. Provides support and counsel to the Director Clinical Operations North Zone and management team on all aspects of related services within designated geographic area.

Completion of an accredited health care program. Active or eligible for registration through applicable Alberta regulated health profession. A minimum of 5 years' experience in Seniors Health. Three to five years' experience in health care management, ideally in an organization of significant size, complexity and diversity. Demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development and progressive leadership experience in a healthcare environment.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Progressive leadership experience in a healthcare environment, including experience in a management role in health service operations. Effective communicator with strong organizational skills, influential skills, client focused orientation and commitment to providing quality services Leadership skills, including demonstrated ability and comfort with decision making responsibilities, coaching and teaching, and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others.
Preferred Qualifications:
Baccalaureate degree in nursing preferred; however, skills and experience relevant to nursing practice will be considered. Combination of education and experience may be considered Knowledge of legislation and regulation related to healthcare. Knowledge of unionized work environments/union collective agreements. Knowledge of Protection for Persons in Care Act.
