Description:

Reporting to the Department of Medicine Team Lead for Health Analytics & Quality Improvement (QI) and working closely with the Hospitalist Program Manager, this position is responsible for providing analytical support to the DOM and the DFM Hospitalist Medicine Program. This includes annual & quarterly government reporting requirements, as well as the quality improvement analytics needs of each Department. The Analyst consults with clients (e.g., physicians, nurses, allied health, IT, QI, knowledge management, analysts) to fully understand and define the information requested, determine the appropriate methodology, complete the analysis (both descriptive statistics and more advanced statistical analyses), provides interpretations and recommendations, and presents the information. The Analyst is expected to support analytics that integrate data across multiple data types (e.g., Waitlist data, Admission/Discharge/Transfer data, Practitioner Claims data, Continuing Care data, Emergency Department and Inpatient data, etc.) from multiple complex data sources (e.g., Connect Care, Provincial Registry, Medical Affairs, CIHI, Enterprise Data Repository, etc.).

Required Qualifications:

Minimum 5 years of experience in data analytics and/or quality improvement in a health care setting, including: Minimum of 2 years of experience working with SQL databases (Snowflake, Oracle, or Microsoft SQL Server) and; Minimum 2 years of experience using data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.) or 2 years of experience using Python to analyze data and write reports. Undergraduate degree in a health care profession or related field (e.g. community health sciences, health economics, statistics, epidemiology, business administration, and information systems). Proficiency in English, with strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree with a strong quantitative research component in a related field (e.g. community health sciences, health economics, statistics, epidemiology, business administration, and information systems). Completed or working towards ConnectCare/Epic certification(s).
