Alberta Health Services (AHS) is currently looking for someone like you for the role of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Fleet Analyst. You can translate the data to actionable reports and recommendations that are proactive about safety. In this role, you will use fleet management software and analytics programs to ensure that EMS vehicles are safe, reliable, and available to provide emergency services – whenever and wherever they’re needed. AHS is organized into five geographic Zones. This provincial position offers a negotiable location within the five Zones. The majority of the teammates you would most regularly interact will reside in Edmonton or Calgary, so if you are also based in one of the major centres, this will help facilitate in-person relationships and permit additional support as you find your groove. The Fleet Analyst uses various fleet management software to optimize AHS EMS fleet assets, and ensure the effective and efficient use of all vehicles across their life cycle. In this role, you will be accountable to oversee all aspects of the Holman Insights fleet management software (FMS) system in conjunction with GEOTAB Fleet Telematics technology in order to provide EMS a strong foundational fleet management program. You will ensure accurate data integrity, perform analytics on the fleet utilization, develop fleet performance metrics, and provide effective vehicle lifecycle management. As the Fleet Analyst, you will analyze data and perform standardized fleet management reporting to support informed business decisions that will improve the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the AHS EMS fleet. This role is a key fleet position within AHS EMS to deliver an industry leading fleet asset management program designed to ensure ambulances are safe, reliable, and available when needed in order to support the provision of EMS services across Alberta.

The ideal candidate will hold a Diploma or Degree in Business Administration, Data Analytics, Healthcare, or related discipline. Formal Microsoft Office training. National Association of Fleet Administrators (NAFA) Certified Automotive Fleet Manager (CAFM) or Certified Automotive Fleet Specialist (CAFS) certification is required. The successful candidate will possess a minimum 3 years of related experience working in a large fleet environment or related industry. They will have 3 years’ experience performing data analysis or relevant experience managing a large fleet of vehicles with a software system. This includes a minimum 3 years’ experience with fleet information management software systems such as Holman Insights, Assetworks Fleet Focus (M5), Chevin FleetWave or similar. Experience with GEOTAB Fleet Telematics Technology. Equivalencies of education and experience will be considered.
Additional Required Qualifications:
The idea candidate will possess a thorough understanding of automotive vehicle systems, components, and maintenance practices. This person has experience with Emergency Vehicle fleet safety inspections, preventative maintenance programs, and industry standard fleet maintenance repair codes. Advanced skills with Microsoft Office suite of products and experience with video conferencing software such as MS Teams, Zoom, Webex, etc. A demonstrated ability to utilize fleet management software systems to conduct fleet asset and maintenance analysis, audits, and producing fleet management reports. The candidate should display a mindset of continual improvement, with the demonstrated ability to improve quality, solve complex problems, foster change, make decisions, improve processes, and develop collaborative relationships. Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills and ability to write formal fleet management reports.
Preferred Qualifications:
One or more of the following credentials is highly desirable: Journeyperson Automotive or Heavy-Duty Technician (red or blue seal), Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, Lean Six Sigma certification (Yellow Belt or higher).
