Your Opportunity:

Health Shared Services (HSS) is looking for an analytical, solutions focused Advisor to join our HR Analytics & Planning team. In this role, you will turn complex HR, payroll, and finance data into clear, actionable insights that support leaders across the organization. This role is the organization’s primary source for timely, accurate workforce data that supports labour negotiations, union reporting, executive analysis, and urgent ad hoc requests including from government that inform high-stakes decisions. Without this position, critical reporting slows or stalls, increasing risk in bargaining, delaying executive actions, and reducing PHA/PHC’s ability to respond quickly to operational and strategic workforce issues. The Advisor also provides advice, recommends and develops performance measures, interfacing and liaising with clinical networks and various client groups outside of HR. Knowledge of leading practices and data trends is required for the overall improvement of the capacity, quality and processes of the team. Description:

The Advisor analyzes and integrates data from multiple systems to build workforce performance measures and indicators, applying descriptive and advanced statistical methods to support planning and decision making. The position creates reports, visualizations, and interpretations that are easy for clients to understand and use. In addition to consulting with stakeholders to clarify analytical needs, propose feasible data solutions, and explain results, the Advisor improves processes, tools, and measurement approaches by applying leading practices. Along with client relationship management, the Advisor is accountable for the development of Information Related to Performance Measures, working directly with clients across HSS to define issues and establish methodologies to analyze results across complex data systems. Analysis includes working with both descriptive statistics and more advanced statistical analyses. The Advisor provides interpretations and recommendations and contributes data and expertise for forecasting and predictive modeling. They ensure integrity and rigor of primary and secondary datasets for operational and strategic planning and evaluation purposes, including data retrieval and analysis and report preparation. Additionally, the position prepares, and presents findings, providing consultation and advice to clients to ensure their understanding and approval.

Required Qualifications:

The successful applicant possesses a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in human resources, information technology, management, business administration, statistics, economics, or related area. CHRP or other recognized designation is a strong asset. The applicant must have a minimum two years of experience in HR, analytics, or similar work in a large, complex organization, preferably a healthcare environment. The Advisor demonstrates a clear pattern of professional and personal development. Equivalencies of education and experience may be considered.


Additional Required Qualifications:

The Advisor possesses experience with large datasets, HR/Payroll/Finance systems, SQL or data extraction tools, and statistical software (e.g., SAS, SPSS, R, Python). In addition to advanced computer skills required in Excel MS Word, Microsoft Access, and HRIS reporting tools, the successful candidate has experience with tableau and/or power BI. Strong communication skills and the ability to present complex analyses in clear, meaningful ways is essential as is an exceptional attention to detail, ability to manage multiple priorities, and strong relationship building skills. The Advisor possesses demonstrated leadership skills, including demonstrated ability and comfort with decision making responsibilities, coaching and teaching, and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others. The Advisor has a proven ability to foster partnerships and to achieve organizational goals within an organization and ideally managing within a unionized sector. The successful candidate possesses a strong record of accomplishment in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.


Preferred Qualifications:

Ability to interpret statistical data and balance numerous demands and diverse projects are assets. Attention to detail and project management skills. Experience working in the healthcare sector preferred.
