Your Opportunity:
Health Shared Services (HSS) provides vital services to clinical and non-clinical teams across Alberta’s healthcare system and works alongside provincial health agencies and corporations, providing expertise, systems and resources related to finance, procurement, information technology, human resources, workplace health and safety, privacy, legal and other shared corporate and support services. As part of the HSS organization, HR and Provincial Staff Scheduling Shared Services (HR & PSS SS) provides pay and benefit administration and scheduling of employees working in provincial health agencies and corporations. In addition to performing transactions related to pay, benefits and scheduling, HR & PSS SS supports the systems used for these transactions, including: e-People (HR information system used in pay and benefit administration), the RMS (recruitment management system) and MySchedule (staff scheduling system), and users of these systems. As part of HR and Provincial Staff Scheduling Shared Services, the e-People and MySchedule Training and Change Management teams are responsible for developing, maintaining and delivering training materials and courses along with supporting communications for these systems and the users.
Description:
This Advisor position supports HR and Provincial Scheduling Shared Services in the development and delivery of communications, related to both e-People and MySchedule functionality and business processes to various users, including managers, timekeepers, schedulers, and employees, across multiple healthcare organizations. The Advisor writes, reviews, acquires approval, and executes communications (emails, newsletters, and various other digital and physical media) supporting e-People and MySchedule functionality and processes. In addition, this role develops, coordinates, and executes communication planning and strategies in support of project work and business events for these systems. The role also liaises with functional clients to understand communication needs and content and collaborates with HSS Corporate Communications and other colleagues at various provincial healthcare organizations, as required, to support broader initiatives. The Advisor provides support to HR & Provincial Scheduling Shared Services teammates in reviewing system documentation and other client-facing resources to ensure adherence to quality and team standards. The role is involved in the design and maintenance of various SharePoint sites used within the department. As this role is within a provincial team, the work location is negotiable within the province, in a remote, hybrid, or in-office setting. This position will work remotely initially but may be required to work out of an office location in the future.

Demonstrated ability to write professional-level communication content for email, newsletters and web. Ability to coordinate and translate complex information into content that is relevant and straightforward for various audiences. Ability to understand and maintain a high level of confidentiality. Excellent organizational skills and ability to establish and adjust priorities based on business need. Strong attention to detail focusing on being thorough and accurate. Intermediate-advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite required (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Proven ability to foster collaborative and client-service oriented relationships with a variety of colleagues.
Additional Required Qualifications:
A minimum of 3 years' experience in corporate or internal communications, change management and/or human resources, ideally in an organization of significant size, complexity and diversity. Completion of a related post-secondary degree in Communication Studies, Business Administration, Marketing, Public Relations, or Change Management. A combination of education and experience will be considered. Working knowledge of HR and/or Scheduling systems (PeopleSoft, Infor WFM, recruitment management systems). SharePoint experience. Technical writing experience.
