Completion of post-secondary education (e.g. diploma in business or office administration, specialized external certification).
Additional Required Qualifications:Seasoned/Specialized technical/professional experience (i.e. 5-7 years). Minimum five years progressive senior administrative experience in a teaching hospital/multidisciplinary medical or educational institution is required to understand the complex relationship between clinical operations and educational programming. Thorough knowledge of academic/clinical education programs from the Cumming School of Medicine and Teaching Hospital perspective. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail are critical. Demonstrated analytic problem-solving and decision making skills are necessary to anticipate, identify and independently recommend appropriate actions to complex administrative problems, e.g. dealing with conflicting policy and practices of the UofC and Region, resolving issues around Residents' documentation to practice with the CPSA. Using good judgment to make independent decisions and work without direct supervision. Strong, effective communication skills in managing confrontational, confidential and problem-solving situations, often as first contact on behalf of the program and department. Work performed is confidential and sensitive in nature and therefore requires discretion and tact when dealing with all levels of staff. Good listening skills, tact and professionalism are required.
Preferred Qualifications:PARA Collective Agreement an asset. Post-Graduate Medical Education Policies, Guidelines and Principles - Royal College. Cumming School of Medicine PGME training program. Videoconferencing equipment. University of Calgary EProcurement, eFIN, and expense reimbursements. Cumming School of Medicine Rural Physician Program . AHS ePeople. AHS On-Call Application. Familiar with Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Residency Training Program By-Laws and new Initiatives eg. CBD.
