Administrative Support V - Scheduler Team Lead

Would you enjoy leading a team in a fast paced, complex, change oriented environment that has an important impact on the delivery of front-line healthcare services? Scheduling Shared Services supports the day-to-day scheduling tasks of AHS employees and managers. As the Scheduler Team Lead (STL) you will provide critical expertise in the daily operations of the staffing office by providing direction to staffing clerks, monitoring workloads and workflows in collaboration with the Staffing Service Centre (SSC) Manager. You will provide scheduling support for Unit Managers, Charge Nurses and Relief Team Managers to ensure unit work plans and staff schedules/assignments are up to date and maintained through an Scheduling System Application. Leveraging strategic communication and problem-solving skills will be key in the ongoing collaboration with managers to resolve high priority scheduling issues in a Scheduling System Application. Your scheduling expertise will enable the ability to anticipate staffing needs and communicate effectively to your client groups. Dynamic customer service skills will be needed to fluidly support your clients in optimizing the use of the Scheduling System Application and helping to extract information from staffing/scheduling reports and related statistics. The STL will act as a mentor for peers and must actively promote and facilitate a positive work environment by fostering a team attitude of acceptance and tolerance. The STL will also be adept at maintaining cohesion by utilizing proven conflict resolution skills both within their team and for internal clients. The successful STL will efficiently assist with reviewing timecards in the Scheduling System Application, analyze the time admin exception reports, investigate pay errors from a timekeeper perspective and make the necessary corrections for accurate delivery of pay.

Completion of post-secondary education (e.g. certificate in office or business administration).
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum 2 years of customer service experience. Minimum 2 years of staffing services experience (scheduling, timekeeping and payroll). Demonstrated leadership experience. Ability to participate and complete 3-week STL Training course as required Ability to participate and complete additional training as required. Knowledge and operation of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience with a Scheduling System Application. Current experience working in an AHS Centralized Staffing Service Centre Timekeeping and payroll processing experience with Scheduling System Applications Call Centre experience. Demonstrated coaching and mentoring experience. Experience working in a unionized, health care and 24/7 environment. Knowledge of applicable collective agreements.
