Administrative Support V - Program Coordinator
Your Opportunity:
Emergency Health Services – Alberta is recruiting a Program Coordinator to support the provincial Workforce Experience team within People and Practice Excellence. This is an advanced coordination role for someone who thrives in a fast-moving, highly visible environment where accuracy, responsiveness, judgment, and follow-through matter. Reporting to the Program Lead, Workforce Experience, this position is the operational backbone for provincial workforce sustainability initiatives. Working with minimal direction, the role has primary responsibility for coordinating and managing provincial recognition programming and supports multiple concurrent initiatives involving front-line employees, leaders, and service partners. Responsibilities include developing detailed schedules, workflows, records, communications, participation processes, and operating procedures; coordinating nominations, eligibility reviews, approvals, events, travel, vendors, provincial communications, and follow-up; and maintaining project plans, action logs, decision records, dashboards, and status reports. The coordinator monitors program funding, prepares estimates and forecasts, reconciles expenditures and invoices, and identifies variances or financial risks. The role collects, validates, analyzes, and reports program data; maintains digital tools and information channels; resolves escalated operational issues; recommends process improvements; and coordinates contributors across multiple teams and organizations to keep work moving on time. The role requires coordination across provincial teams, organizations, and changing priorities. The successful candidate will understand the pace and complexity of a first-responder environment and will bring exceptional organization, technological confidence, discretion, and a strong service orientation to work that reaches employees across Alberta.
