Alberta Health Services is currently hiring for a Logistics Team Lead, Travel to lead a group of cross-trained Logistics Coordinators in support of a program that will change health care as we know it in Alberta. Connect Care is a transformational, multi-year healthcare program that looks to integrate over 1300 independent clinical information systems resulting in improved patient focused services. As the successful Team Lead you will leverage your strong negotiation, planning, problem solving, supervising, interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills to facilitate a large variety of Connect Care events and related administrative work across the province. Reporting to the Logistics Manager, the Administrative Support V - Logistics Team Lead, Travel will look to collaboratively embrace new challenges and thrive in a flexible, dynamic environment. As the Team Lead, Travel you will identify areas of improvement and develop standardized guidelines for current and future events. Importantly, the Logistics Team Lead, Travel develops working relationships with vendors and establishes service agreements. Building relationships and consulting with different stakeholders in order to determine objectives and requirements for Connect Care events such as planning and coordinating accommodation bookings and transportation, ensuring travelers are provided with their travel confirmations in a timely manner. The Logistics Team Lead, Travel provides guidance and assistance on complex and/or large travel requests. Provides performance results or ratings to management. Identifying issues related to the travel arrangements for Connect Care activities and supervising all travel arrangements are executed flawlessly and within the standards and policies of AHS will be key to this role’s success. The incumbent will support other processes within the Logistics department.


As an Administrative Support V, you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of post-secondary education (e.g. certificate in office or business administration).

Additional Required Qualifications:

At least 5 years of travel coordination experience. Minimum 3 years supervising staff. Demonstrated experience with complex planning and coordination for large-scale projects. Knowledge of reporting. Knowledge of Skype for business. Strong knowledge of MS Office including MS Excel. Able to travel within Alberta. Ability to meet the physical demands of the job; navigating to multiple sites in a timely fashion and carrying a laptop, documents or light objects (for example projectors, stands).

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of SharePoint. Knowledge of MS Visio. Experience in a Health Care setting. Completion of a Travel and Tourism Program. Working knowledge of an event booking system.
