Your Opportunity:
The Arthur J. E. Child Comprehensive Cancer Centre (ACCC) is currently looking for a Administrative Support V - Bed Placement Administrative Assistant to join our team. This position performs complex clerical duties related to patient bed allocation, admissions, direct admissions, and transferring of patients. They will be responsible for accurately placing admissions according to the doctor, diagnosis and isolation requirements. This position serves as the point of initial contact for physicians seeking admission of a patient through ED or direct process. The Admin will communicate to a wide multi-disciplinary team when advocating for patient movement/admission. They will work with electronic information systems to track the availability of inpatient beds, liaise with units to identify status of patients and work closely with the Site Managers to assess capacity, problem solve, prioritize patient needs and coordinate patient movement. They will also be responsible to collecting data and managing standing reports on inpatient capacity and demand.

Completion of post-secondary education (e.g. certificate in office or business administration).
Additional Required Qualifications:Must have at least 2 years' work experience working in acute care as a Bed Placement Coordinator. Medical Terminology. Administrative Assistant V experience. Work independently. Excellent communication skills. Excellent problem-solving skills. Excellent Connect Care skills.
Preferred Qualifications:Previous bed placement experience. Admitting Clerk course. Unit Clerk experience. Experience in health care or medical office setting. Connect Care and Microsoft skills. Typing speed of at least 40 WPM. Experience working within oncology setting.
