The Department of Pediatrics is seeking a highly skilled Administrative Support V to provide senior-level administrative assistance to multiple Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) physicians, including the Section Chief. In this role you will coordinate and manage daily activities, support physician rounds, and organize various committee meetings. You will also contribute to longer-term projects and initiatives as they arise. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Alberta Health Services and the University of Calgary, along with a comprehensive knowledge of academic medicine. This position requires someone who can work independently, exercise sound judgment, and demonstrate professionalism and AHS Values in all interactions. As the first point of contact for the physicians and the PICU section, your communication skills and discretion will be essential. The hours of this position are Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 4:15 pm. We offer a one day per week hybrid remote work option.

Completion of post-secondary education (e.g. certificate in office or business administration).
Additional Required Qualifications:Completion of a Medical Office Assistant Diploma/Certificate, Business Administration Diploma/Certificate or equivalent of 3 years of progressive senior administrative experience. A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a healthcare administrative role, including calendar management, minute taking and agenda preparation and physician scheduling. CV maintenance and ARO (Academic Reporting Online) skill required. Must have demonstrated attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in basic accounting and expense management. Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and integrity. Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and SharePoint. Preferred Qualifications:Five years of full-time experience in a senior administrative capacity in a health care setting. Experience with event planning. Experience with database and/or website management. Experience with physician and medical learner scheduling. Preference given to individuals with knowledge of ARP Reporting, physician and resident on-call payments, and medical terminology.
