Required Qualifications:

Completion of post-secondary education (e.g. course(s) in business administration, medical office assistant), or other related fields.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Knowledge of medical terminology is required. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in administrative role within healthcare environment working with physicians. ConnectCare. Experience working with the Department of Medicine at the University of Alberta and a solid understanding of its organizational structure. Knowledge and operation of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preference will be given to those with previous experience working as a Medical Office Assistant/Secretary. Training and experience with eCLINICIAN, ConnectCare, or other EMR, NetCare, Dragon Medical One, eScription or other healthcare programs. Familiarity with FOIP and the Health Information Act. Knowledge and understanding of the referral, booking, triage and transcription functions within Department of Medicine clinics.
