Completion of some post-secondary education (e.g. course(s) in office of business administration, medical office assistant). Knowledge and operation of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
Additional Qualifications:Completion of Grade 12 required. CPR BLS – HCP required. Medical Office Assistant certificate required or equivalent relevant experience working in a health care setting is required. Understanding of the clerical/administrative support needs for urology and/or oncology patients required. Minimum of three years recent experience in a health care based organization (medical office or hospital setting) working as an administrative assistant is required within the past 5 years. Requires excellent working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office applications. HealthQuest, eCLINICIAN, Tandem and Netcare experience required. Demonstration of excellent organizational, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills required. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure to meet timelines with minimal supervision required. Self-direction, adaptability and flexibility are required while working in a fast-paced, multi-faceted work environment. Required on occasion to transfer or transport patients and equipment, which may involve pushing or pulling. Walking, sitting, or standing for extended periods frequently required. Required to be able to lift equipment and/or deliveries for transport to the appropriate team members. Requires experience and skills with telephone answering and trouble-shooting calls. Previous data entry experience required.
