Administrative Support IV - Drug Access Coordinator
Your Opportunity:
This role is a member of the inter-professional health care team supporting patients and families attending the Neurosciences portfolio. The Administrative Support IV - Drug Access Coordinator (DAC) is an exciting opportunity which will focus on collaborating with clinical staff, patients, pharmaceutical and insurance companies to process applications for medications. Timely, prioritized documentation is essential in obtaining access to the therapies that patients require. The DAC will maintain a drug special authorization renewals database, which will be key in meeting the demand for patient assistance for drug funding. This will increase the MS clinic efficiency. Cross training to other clinics is supported in Neurosciences to ensure patient care is optimized. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential. The successful candidate will showcase adaptability in managing workflow, exercising discretion, and prioritizing tasks in a sensitive, confidential, and timely manner.

Additional Required Qualifications:Experience working as a Admin IV for a minimum of 1 year (within the last 3 years). Experience in an Ambulatory or Hospital Care setting. -Completion of a Unit Clerk, Administration in Healthcare course or Medical Office Assistant Program. Must be proficient in Connect Care; roles ambulatory unit clerk, schegistrar and referrals (due to the urgent need to start this position). -Knowledge of and comfort with computer applications such as Microsoft Office. Ability to work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team. Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment. Excellent organization skills, critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to handle and balance numerous demands and conflicting priorities and readjust daily schedule on short notice. Must be able to meet Physical demands of the role which may include long periods of sitting, standing, walking, lifting, pulling and pushing and bending. This role involves repetitive tasks when using telephone and/or computer for work-related duties.
Preferred Qualifications:Basic Cardiac Life Support. Drug Access Coordination experience an asset. Preference will be given to those applicants who have been working in a MS clinic or similar within a hospital setting in the past year.
