Required Qualifications:

Completion of post-secondary education (e.g. course(s) in office of business administration, medical office assistant).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Grade 12 diploma and a post-secondary diploma specializing in medical billing and medical terminology is required. 2 - 3 years of experience in medical billing services is also required. Demonstrated understanding of the AH billing processes, rules and regulations as well as excellent attention to detail in all aspects of work. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. The successful candidate must have excellent communication skills (written and oral), the ability to work diligently with team members and foster relationships with stakeholders. The successful candidate must be proficient with MS Office applications (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word). Working knowledge of the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and e-CLINICIAN / Healthquest. Must possess initiative, judgement, time management and organizational skills. Additionally, this position must be able to function with limited supervision.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preference given to those with an understanding of University of Alberta, AHS, and AH policies and procedures. Proficiency in VAX, Alberta Wellnet and Netcare is highly desirable.
