Completion of post-secondary education (e.g. course(s) in office of business administration, medical office assistant).
Additional Required Qualifications:2-5 years of progressively responsible administrative secretarial experience required. Advanced knowledge and experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Publisher and Excel. As a bona fide occupational requirement, and under Section 11 of the Alberta Human Rights Act, only Indigenous applicants will be considered. We encourage Indigenous candidates to self- identify. Knowledge of local Indigenous history and experience in local Indigenous culture. Broad knowledge of Indigenous history and cultures within Alberta. High degree of cultural competence as it relates to working with Indigenous people. Critical thinking in order to execute and develop innovative and culturally appropriate approaches to attracting Indigenous people to AHS. Proven ability to foster partnerships, establish and maintain strong working relationships with First Nations and Metis communities, public agencies and government. Understand the politically sensitive nature of working with multiple culturally diverse individuals and groups. Completion of accredited clerk and medical terminology courses Demonstrated proficient computer skills and troubleshooting with current software programs such as HR programs, Internet, Microsoft Office and Email. Knowledgeable of Indigenous culture and protocols. Demonstrates strong customer service & family centred care principles. Knowledgeable about modern office equipment, practices and procedures, i.e. fax, photocopier, social media, electronic personal devices.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience in working with Indigenous families in stressful situations. Experience working in a healthcare setting. Ability to work with other team members to achieve program goals.
