Required Qualifications:

Completion of post-secondary education (e.g. course(s) in office of business administration, medical office assistant).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Advance knowledge and operation of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and other database software programs (VAX, Oracle). Excellent customer service, verbal and written communication skills. Ability to provide a positive and friendly approach in dealing with challenging situations with empathy and sincerity. Capacity to be a solid listener who goes out of their way to explain and resolve concerns or problems. The ability to work effectively independently, and within a team, effectively managing his/her time and setting priorities when faced with multiple tasks and deadlines over a period of time. Proficiency in safeguarding Alberta Health Services information as private and confidential. Competent in respecting and adhering to Alberta Health Services values, policies, procedures and objectives. An excellent attendance record, reliability, and personal suitability must be demonstrated through employment references.

Preferred Qualifications:

Successful completion of a recognized program in Office Administration/Administrative Assistant/Medical Office Assistant; minimum certificate; diploma preferred. Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in senior secretary/administrative support position(s) within a Healthcare environment preferred. Long Term Care Admin Support is preferred; experience with AHS Accreditation and Audits. Accurate keyboarding skill, with a full knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel).
