Administrative Support IV
Your Opportunity:
Referral, Access, Advice, Placement, Information, Destination (RAAPID) provides health care providers with a single point of access to assist them in accessing expert advice and transport coordination when patients require transfer. The Admin Support IV at RAAPID must possess expertise that supports the facilitation of consultations and coordination of patient movement. The Admin Support IV at RAAPID is in regular contact with physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals. To succeed in this role, the incumbent must possess excellent customer service skills, must have excellent telephone etiquette, must have a firm grasp of multiple forms of information technology along with a sound working knowledge of medical terminology. This position provides administrative assistance to the RAAPID staff and clients of RAAPID through chart and records management, interdisciplinary communication, report writing, patient registration, and other duties as deemed appropriate by Manager/designate.

Additional Required Qualifications:Completion of post-secondary Unit Clerk/Medical Office Assistant education required. 3- 5 years' Experience in Emergency and/or Acute clinical setting as an administrative support (e.g., unit clerk, MOA) is required. Strong Medical Terminology knowledge is required. Exemplary word processing skills with the ability to type at 40-50 wpm. Trained in Connect Care. Applicants must have experience communicating regularly with physicians, nursing staff, and allied health professionals. This is not an entry level position.
Preferred Qualifications:Unit Clerk experience in an Emergency Department, high-acuity, or acute care setting preferred. Experience managing high call volumes, multiple phone lines, and telephone-based administrative support preferred. Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment, multitask, prioritize competing demands, and remain organized under pressure. Knowledge of urgent, non-urgent, orthopedic consults/referrals, and multiple healthcare areas is an asset.
