Your Opportunity:

The Administrative Support IV Chemo Scheduler position provides high-quality administrative support and customer service in a fast-paced clinical environment. The successful candidate will work independently with minimal supervision, will manage challenging situations effectively, demonstrate strong problem-solving and communication skills while maintaining patient confidentiality. This position is responsible for scheduling procedures, hormone injections, and chemotherapy treatment requests using the Connect Care electronic health record. Key responsibilities include processing physician orders, coordinating appointments across multiple departments, responding to internal and external inquiries, completing patient registration, issuing patient wristbands and assisting with nurse workload coordination. All duties must be performed professionally and in alignment with Cancer Care Alberta’s mission and core values.

Required Qualifications:

Some post-secondary education.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent credential. Completion of a recognized Unit Clerk or Medical Office Administration program. Proficient keyboarding skills and knowledge with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel. Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated ability to manage difficult conversations with patients, staff and visitors professionally. Ability to call code Blues and work with EMS transport. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Capacity to perform physical requirements including bending, lifting, extended walking and prolonged sitting. Strong communication skills with flexibility to adapt to changing priorities. Oncology and Connect Care experience considered an asset. Preference given to candidates with previous unit clerk experience in a health care setting.
