Administrative Support IV
Your Opportunity:
Reporting to the Management Team of The Oncology Surgical Procedures Unit and Radiation Therapy (RT) Dayroom, the Administrative Support IV is responsible for performing a range of clerical duties to support the operations of the RT Dayroom Unit. This position plays a key role in a collaborative team environment by providing a variety of clerical support duties, facilitating communication between nursing and other health disciplines, departments, patients and families while maintaining confidentiality of patient information. The role of the Administrative Support IV includes, but is not limited to, the following duties: Scheduling patients for appointments, Patient reception activities: greeting patients, answering the telephone, addressing patient inquires and relaying messages; Arranging patient referrals (internal and external); Photocopying, faxing, mail distribution; Preparing charts for patient visits and coordinates with the Clinical Trial team when necessary; Accountable for the accurate and timely transcription of physician orders; Contacting and advising patients of upcoming appointment dates/ times and any preparation necessary; Requesting information/media from outside agencies in support of patient care; Preceptorship in providing training/direction to new clerks or practicum students.

Some post-secondary education.
Additional Required Qualifications:Completion of a grade 12 High School Diploma required. Completion of medical terminology course and post-secondary Unit Clerk or MOA course required.
Preferred Qualifications:Clerk IV experience within the last 2 years with the Radiation Therapy Nursing team preferred. Experience using Connect Care & Netcare is preferred. Experience with Microsoft Office (Windows, Excel, Outlook) preferred. Clerk IV experience within the last 2 years in Oncology.
