Your Opportunity:

Your opportunity to support the dynamic and high impact programs of the Adult Department of Critical Care Medicine (DCCM) and Emergency Departments within Calgary awaits. Reporting to the Executive Director and programmatic lead of DCCM, this role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with Executive Directors, Physicians, Managers, Clinical Nurse Specialists, and Clinical Nurse Educators in a fast paced, complex healthcare environment. As an Administrative Support IV, you will provide advanced administrative and operational support to senior leadership teams, departments, and clinical programs within the Calgary Zone. You play a key role in enabling efficient day to day operations, supporting departmental priorities, and ensuring administrative processes run smoothly while maintaining a high level of professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail. Success in this role requires strong administrative expertise, sound judgment, and an active understanding of priorities and emerging issues within clinical programs. Superior communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills are essential, as you will regularly manage sensitive and confidential information where the impact of error may be significant. This position is based on site at Rockyview General Hospital and is currently scheduled Monday to Friday, 0800–1615. Hours may vary to meet operational requirements.

Required Qualifications:

Some post-secondary education.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Grade 12 diploma and Medical Office Assistant/Unit Clerk Program from a recognized program, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in an acute care medical clerical role. Recent experience in an Administrative Support IV (or equivalent) role within the past 3 years. Demonstrated Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, Teams, and Zoom. High degree of accountability and attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare setting. Fluency in English and medical terminology (reading, writing, and oral communication). Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision, prioritize effectively, solve problems, and manage frequent interruptions. Displays strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team. Physical ability to meet job demands, including lifting to 30 lbs. and sitting or standing for extended periods. Working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat and Visio.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience supporting the Department of Critical Care Medicine and/or Emergency Medicine. Advanced Outlook calendar, scheduling, email, and meeting management skills, including agenda creation and minute taking. Experience with SharePoint and basic website maintenance (OpenText or equivalent). Familiarity with Connect Care (basic access) and medical terminology. Experience with survey development and reporting using REDCap.
