Administrative Support IV
Your Opportunity:
The Department of Pediatrics is seeking a Temporary Administrative Support IV to join the Section of Nephrology for a one-year term. This role provides high-level, professional administrative support to a group of 3–5 academic physicians, assisting with their clinical, research, medical education, and leadership responsibilities. The successful candidate will play a key role in coordinating and managing the physicians’ day-to-day activities, while also offering backup support to the broader Nephrology administrative team as needed. To thrive in this position, a strong understanding of the operational structures of both Alberta Health Services and the University of Calgary, Cumming School of Medicine is essential. Prior experience in medical education and/or research administration is considered an asset. The successful candidate will be proactive, self-directed, and able to work as part of a cohesive team. Sound judgment, tact, creativity, and initiative are required to balance a mix of regular, recurring tasks and larger projects or initiatives. As a frequent point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, professionalism and discretion are critical in representing the Department, Section, and physicians. Regular hours for this position are 08:00-4:15 Mon-Fri. We do offer a hybrid work from home option of ONE DAY PER WEEK.

Additional Required Qualifications:Equivalent experience of 3 years at an intermediate executive administrative level may be considered. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and time management are essential, along with excellent communication skills. This role requires at least intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint Online. Previous experience with calendar management, minute taking, and agenda preparation is expected. Experience coordinating events for symposiums or medical retreats is a strong asset. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to handle confidential information with discretion, tact, and diplomacy. Familiarity with basic accounting and expense management is required, with preference given to those with experience in University of Calgary Research and Trust Accounting. Preferred Qualifications:2 Years of full-time experience in an intermediate administrative capacity in a Health Care setting. 2 Years of experience managing calendars, minute taking, and creating agendas. Previous event or conference planning experience. Previous scheduling experience (health care scheduling preferred). Previous experience with Regional On-Call Application (ROCA). Medical Terminology. University of Calgary Research administration and accounting experience preferred.
