Administrative Support IV
Your Opportunity:
Under the direction of the Unit Manager and Manager for the Pre-Admission Clinic (PAC), this position is responsible for managing patient information, booking appointments for consultations and nurse visits, managing statistical information, reception duties, coordination of activities for patient flow and general communication flows within and outside the unit, and processing of physician's orders. As well, other duties may be needed to prepare patients and their electronic health record for consultations and assessments. The Administrative Support IV plays a pivotal role with the team of health care professionals optimizing the preparation of the patients towards a positive surgical experience. The Administrative Support IV will possess an understanding of how patients and their families are at the center of care strategies and strive to be inclusive and welcoming to reflect the needs and supports required for the populations that we serve (i.e. ethno-cultural, equity-seeking, racialized, faith-based, LGBTQ2S+, vulnerable, marginalized, persons with disabilities, and persons across all age groups, etc.). The Clerk will utilize critical thinking skills and sound judgment in their independent and dependent functions in the provision of health care services to the general public.

Some post-secondary education.
Additional Required Qualifications:Successful completion of a recognized Clerk course required. Current experience within the last 5 years’ experience required in PAC. Two years minimum experience within the last five years as a Clerk in an Acute Care facility and/or outpatient surgical setting required. Demonstrated reliability to attend scheduled shifts. Demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail in assigned duties. Demonstrated computer skills required with current knowledge and experience with software programs such as Connect Care, Excel, Word, ESP, Netcare, Internet, and email. Demonstrated high functioning time management and organizational skills and ability to prioritize work and cope with frequent interruptions in a changing environment. Demonstrated positive and effective interpersonal communication skills. Demonstrated initiative, flexibility and independence in a team atmosphere. Demonstrated ability to adapt towards change.
