Administrative Support IV
Your Opportunity:
The Unit Clerk for Stollery Operative Services is part of a multidisciplinary team caring for pediatric patients, their families, and/or caregivers in accordance with the UAH and Stollery Children's Hospital policies and procedures. The Stollery Operative Services Unit Clerk will report to the manager of the Stollery Surgical Short Stay/ 23 Hour Unit, but when required provide support to all areas of Stollery Operative Services including - Pre-Admission Clinic/Same Day Admit Surgery unit, Stollery Day Ward, Booking Office, Pediatric Post Anesthetic Car Unit, Pediatric Operating Room, 4D Inpatient Surgical Unit, and the Pediatric Surgical Clinics. The Unit Clerk recognizes the value and works with a Family Centered Care Philosophy. Duties include but are not limited to patient registration, processing and transcribing patient care orders, chart assembly, maintaining the inventory of supplies and equipment, booking tests and procedures, scheduling surgical procedure and PAC appointments and other clerical duties to assist with the operational needs of the Operative Services Program. The Unit Clerk will also act as a resource for patients, their families and/or caregivers.

Some post-secondary education.
Additional Required Qualifications:Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) required. Knowledge of computer programs including Connect Care, Netcare, ESP, e-People required. Strong communication and interpersonal skills required. Courteous and pleasant telephone manners required. Proven organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work under pressure with minimal supervision required. Proven reliability and dependability required. Must be able to maintain confidential information required.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience in a Pediatric OR, Pediatric Day Ward, Pediatric PAC/SDAS and Pediatric OR Booking Office setting preferred. Experience with Connect Care preferred. Experience working in Excel is an asset.
