Your Opportunity:

This Administrative Support IV position provides administrative support to 3-5 academic physicians including the Site Lead within the Department of Pediatrics, Newborn Critical Care Section at Rockyview General Hospital. This position is responsible for supporting the coordination and management of the daily activities of the physicians, as well as backup administrative support on an ad hoc basis when staffing/vacation/absences dictate. In order to function effectively and be successful in this role, the incumbent should have a comprehensive understanding of the operations of Alberta Health Services and the University of Calgary – Cumming School of Medicine, be self-directed, and able to work independently and within a team environment. The incumbent will work with minimal supervision to complete tasks where considerable judgement, tact, creativity and initiative is required in resolving issues. Must competently handle changing priorities within tight deadlines with frequent interruptions. Professionalism is paramount in representing the Physicians, Section and Department to internal and external stakeholders. The hours of this position are Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 4:15 pm. Hybrid arrangement of one day per week work from home.

Required Qualifications:

Some post-secondary education.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Equivalent experience of 3 years at an intermediate administrative level may be considered. Attention to detail, accuracy, and time management skills are required. Strong communication skills. Minimum intermediate competency in Microsoft Office suite, working knowledge of SharePoint, and 40-50 wpm typing. Previous experience with calendar management, minute taking, and creating agendas. Preferred Qualifications:

2 years of fulltime experience in an intermediate administrative capacity in a Health Care setting. 2 years of experience managing calendars, taking minutes, and creating agendas. Previous experience with basic accounting and managing expenses. Previous event planning experience. Previous experience with scheduling and/or Regional On-Call (ROCA). Previous experience with Research and Trust accounting at University of Calgary. Experience supporting Academic Physicians. Medical terminology.
