Your Opportunity:

Reporting to the Manager of the Staffing Service Centre (SSC) Central Zone, the Administrative Support IV provides staff scheduling support to multiple programs within the Central Zone. The Administrative Support IV (Staffing Clerk) uses Environment for Scheduling Personnel (ESP) staff scheduling application and works within pre-determined staff scheduling processes to complete complex and often urgent staff scheduling tasks within short time-lines in a busy, high pressure environment. The Administrative Support IV will enjoy working in a fast paced, highly challenging, change oriented environment. The Administrative Support IV will have the opportunity to design a successive career plan and will be provided with ongoing career development and training to assist in the achievement of these goals. Key responsibilities include filling pre-booked and immediate shifts that result from staff vacation leaves of absence, illness, and education leaves; Anticipating staffing needs and informing managers of shifts that require further attention; Entering data for payroll; Updating employee skills/pool/personal information in ESP; Providing scheduling reports, records, and statistical information. The Central Zone Staffing Service Centre is open 7 days a week. All employees will be expected to work both Day and Evening shifts within current and future hours of operation. Shift hours and hours of operation are subject to change.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of post-secondary education (e.g. course(s) in office of business administration, medical office assistant).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications required. Excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal is required. High degree of customer service, both in-person and by phone/email, problem solving, conflict resolution, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills are required. Working knowledge of the various applicable collective agreements and time reporting codes preferred. Must have superior active listening and interpretative skills. Must have the ability to work independently with minimal direction and within a team environment. Must have demonstrated ability to pay close attention to detail with a high level of accuracy. Must have superior ability to organize and prioritize. Must be flexible and able to meet the demands of changing deadlines. Must be able to purposefully work with colleagues, partners and clients to achieve shared goals.

Preferred Qualifications:

1-3 years staff scheduling experience in health care preferred. Proficiency with ESP for scheduling preferred. Timekeeping/payroll experience is preferred. Experience in working in a unionized health care and/or 24/7 environment is preferred.
