Required Qualifications:

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Successful completion of Medical Terminology course required. Experience: 1-3 years reception experience. Working knowledge of patient/ client filing systems an asset, particularly terminal digit systems. Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to work cooperatively and professionally with clients, nursing staff and physicians. Ability to prioritize and organize work in a fast-paced environment while receiving minimal supervision. Excellent attendance record, reliability and personal suitability must be demonstrated through employment references. Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English language. Neat and well-groomed appearance. Superior customer service skills. Proven accuracy in spelling, keyboarding and attention to detail. Minimum typing speed of 50 wpm. Proven initiative and ability to work with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications:

Familiarity of Alberta Health Services and Programs is an asset.
