Your Opportunity:

The Guideline Resource Unit (GURU) supports Cancer Care Alberta’s provincial Tumour Teams in developing clinical practice guidelines and tools for the diagnosis, staging, treatment, and follow-up of cancer. Reporting to the Manager of GURU, the Administrative Support III provides daily support to team members including managing individual and team calendars, setting up meeting polls, scheduling virtual and in-person working group meetings, coordinating documents, and timekeeping. This position also provides administrative support to the Medical Director, Provincial Tumour Teams. A focus on customer service, excellent time-management skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to work within a fast-paced team environment are essential skills required to be successful in this role. This is a temporary one-year role.

As an Administrative Support III, you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Completion of a recognized Business/Clerical course. Minimum of one course in Medical Terminology. Minimum two years experience in a similar role. Proficiency in Microsoft Access, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Ability to communicate effectively and in a calm, courteous, timely, and professional manner with a variety of staff/ healthcare providers. Proven accuracy and attention to detail in written (i.e., spelling, keyboarding) and verbal communications. Ability to prioritize and organize work in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of cancer terminology and experience in cancer care is an asset.
