Administrative Support III
Your Opportunity:
Reporting to the SZ West Palliative Care team manager, the booking clerk provides administrative support, performing duties that focus on booking client visits with the palliative care physicians, maintaining physician calendars to keep current with time off and contacting clients for appointment reminders. This position performs the functions of general phone reception and administrative support to Palliative Care team in the absence of the Admin Support III. The Booking Clerk must be able to perform complex duties, organize multiple demands with shifting priorities that can impact the provision of care to palliative care clients. Responsibilities of the Booking clerk require independent judgment and solid knowledge of the Palliative Care Program and its processes.

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum 2 years previous admin III experience in an outpatient or community health care program setting. Able to work independently, but function as a team member. Must be able to communicate effectively, written and verbal. Must be able to establish good interpersonal relationships. Able to organize and complete own work with emphasis on detail, accuracy and thoroughness. Demonstrates initiative to assist others with workload. Maintains confidentiality. Familiar with (HIA) Health Information Act and (FOIP) Freedom of Information and Privacy Act. Proficient in all Microsoft office program: outlook, word, excel. Competent in maneuvering within/ data entry into Connect Care and Netcare
Preferred Qualifications:Formal administrative/ clerical training preferred; good knowledge of medical terminology is an asset; excellent communication skills.
