Your Opportunity:

Reporting directly to the Clinical Services Supervisor, the Referral Triage Entry works in a dynamic, collaborative and quality focused environment. This position is responsible for the accessioning of incoming referrals into Connect Care, tracking and investigating changes in referral status, and ensuring the efficient flow of new patient information into the clinical scheduling system. Duties include but are not limited to, the reviewing, and discrete entry of confidential health information into Connect Care, scanning medical documents, preparing and disseminating standardized notifications to patients and referring providers about referral status, managing/monitoring outgoing and previous placed requests to physician pools for referral triage, and maintaining the referral database. This position also triages all incoming clinic faxes, redirecting them to appropriate recipients for action.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Knowledge of medical terminology is required. Minimum of 1 years' experience in an administrative role within a healthcare environment working with physicians. Knowledge and operation of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.

Preferred Qualifications:

Training and experience with Connect Care, other electronic medical records, NetCare or other healthcare programs. Familiarity with FOIP and the Health Information Act.
