As a dedicated member of the Nutrition Food Service (NFS) team, you can make a significant impact by providing nutritious, healthy, high-quality meal service to patients, residents, staff, visitors and the community. This position will be accountable for performing a variety of tasks to ensure a quality patient, resident and customer experience. Under general supervision of a NFS Supervisor, you will use customer service, teamwork and strong organizational skills to complete a variety of administrative and meal-related activities. Examples include: receiving and processing orders; preparing financial reports; vendor management; processing payments for special event; cash handling; following established procedures to maintain patient information related to meal service; processing food preferences, menus and/or tray tickets, food allergies, intolerances and meal tallies; effectively communicate with other departments, patients and coworkers on matters related to patient meals, snacks, nourishment supplies; adhere to safety, sanitation, and food preparation standards in accordance with AHS policies and guidelines; other clerical duties as required. This position also supports with the completion of Patient Satisfaction Surveys with patients. The successful candidate is able to work in a fast-paced environment with speed and accuracy; Work under pressure in high-stress situations; Demonstrate critical thinking skills and initiative; Work as a professional team member with focus on exceptional patient and family-centered care. This position is a 2-week rotation, working every other weekend. Shift times are weekdays 0615-1315 and weekends/holidays 0630-1030.

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:Proven experience working with diet terminology & guidelines is required. Minimum standard for typing is 35 words per minute, and an assessment of skills will be performed. Minimum 1 year experience in commercial or healthcare food service environment. Minimum 1 year customer service experience is required. This position may require you to be able to bend, lift, push, and pull items of up to 20lbs. To ensure safety, effective written and verbal communication in English is required. All new employees will be required to attend a 2-day New Employee Orientation followed by an onsite orientation shift. Preferred Qualifications:Post-secondary administrative assistant/clerical education or education in a related field is preferred. Experience with basic mathematical skills is preferred. 1 year experience working in a diet office setting is preferred. Experience with CBORD, ConnectCare RMID and Formula Calculator are assets.
