Your Opportunity:

This position is required to be on site at Johnstone Crossing Community Health Centre and is not a remote working opportunity. Reporting to the Area Coordinator and CASS Manager, this position supports community health programs (i.e. Public Health, Allied Health, Children’s Rehab Services) operating at the Johnstone Crossing Community Health Centre. The primary focus of this Administrative Support II position is to provide front line reception to clients, staff and the public. The position also answers and responds to a high volume of telephone calls. This position works under extreme tight deadlines. This position requires reaching, lifting, and carrying up to 25kgs. Requires constant movement with walking, standing, and sitting and often works as the single admin supporting the site. Critical thinking and de-escalation skills are necessary. The position requires information and knowledge of the community based programs to effectively address client and public inquiries, and public health appointment bookings. This position must have a good understanding of AHS values and processes when serving the general public. Exceptional customer service skills are required.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Demonstrated accuracy & proficiency in basic computer and keyboarding skills; minimum 20 wpm required. Test will be administered. Must have knowledge of basic office & computer skills, including MS Office Suite. Test will be administered. Examples of exceptional customer service approach with staff, management, clients & the public with both internal staff services & public service examples. Willingness to learn new data systems as implemented. Ability to exercise judgment, professionalism, diplomacy and discretion & maintain confidentiality at all times. Ability to work effectively within a team approach or independently in a fast-paced, multi-task environment. Ability to cope under pressure, deal with stress effectively & demonstrate strong problem-solving skills with setting priorities to work productively & in a well-organized manner. Must be organized & flexible to meet the demands of staff, clients & the general public. Ability to continuously wear a medical mask. Must be capable of pushing & pulling wheeled carts up to & occasionally exceeding 25kgs. Must be capable of walking, sitting or standing for long periods of time. Must be able to regularly use hand & arms to reach, lift & carry items up to 25kgs. Must be able to maneuver stairs &/or step stool.

Preferred Qualifications:

Familiarity with Netcare, Connect Care, and community based Meditech applications (i.e. CWS). Familiarity with multi-line switchboards. Familiarity with community-based health programs. Two years practical office experience.
