As a dedicated member of the Cross Cancer Nutrition Food Service (NFS) team, you have the opportunity to make a significant impact by providing nutritious, healthy, high quality meal service to patients, residents, staff, visitors and the community. This position will be accountable for performing a variety of tasks to ensure a quality patient, resident and customer experience. Under the supervision of a NFS Supervisor, you will use your customer service, teamwork and organizational skills to: (Retail)- Receive and process catering orders; vendor management; adhere to safety, sanitation, and food preparation standards in accordance with AHS policies and guidelines; coverage of breaks within the Trendz Cafe, preparing and serving Starbucks Specialty Beverages, cash handling and other duties as required. (Patient)- Follow established procedures to maintain patient information related to provision of meal service; processes food preferences, food allergies, intolerances and meal tallies; process menus and/or tray tickets; effectively communicate with other departments on matters related to patient meals, snacks, nourishment supplies, and complete other clerical duties as required. This position may require you to bend, lift, push, and pull items of up to 20lbs, and stand for long periods of time. Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum standard for typing is 35 words per minute. Minimum 1 year experience in commercial or healthcare food service environment. Minimum 1 year customer service experience.
Preferred Qualifications:Post-secondary administrative assistant/clerical education or education in a related field. Experience with basic mathematical skills. One year of experience working in a diet office setting. Experience with CBORD, ConnectCare, RMID and Formula Calculator. Experience working with diet terminology & guidelines.
