Required Qualifications:

Completion of a bachelor's degree in Addictions or a combination of a bachelor's degree in a related field with course work in addictions. A related degree combined with a diploma related to addictions, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, may be considered. Individuals eligible for registration under the Health Professions Act must maintain active registration. Individuals may require authorization under regulation to perform restricted psychosocial interventions.

Additional Required Qualifications:

A minimum of 1- 3 years counselling experience in an adult, addiction and/or mental health clinic. 1-3 years of experience facilitating psycho-educational, process, and support groups. A clear criminal record check and vulnerable sector search.

Preferred Qualifications:

MSW, Clinical Specialization or Masters in Counselling Psychology. Registration completed with the applicable professional body. Current Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) certification. Intermediate knowledge of the Transtheoretical Model of Change. Intermediate knowledge of Motivational Interviewing.
