Required Qualifications:

Completion of a bachelor's degree in Addictions or a combination of a bachelor's degree in a related field with course work in addictions. A related degree combined with a diploma related to addictions, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, may be considered. Individuals eligible for registration under the Health Professions Act must maintain active registration. Individuals may require authorization/permission under regulation to perform restricted psychosocial interventions and/or restricted activities.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Social Work or Child and Youth Care Diploma, or relevant degree. CPR, NVCI training. Must possess a valid driver’s license and have access to a reliable vehicle. This position will be mobile and will be required to provide support to Edmonton and surrounding communities. Must have a minimum of three years clinical child and adolescent addiction experience within the last five years. Must have: Knowledge of addictions. Experience working with adolescents facing multiple issues. Experience in school and community programming. Experience in crisis management. Experience in family work. Knowledge of Experiential Learning. A basic understanding and knowledge working with concurrent disorders, aboriginal culture and multi-cultural backgrounds. Will support the Crisis and Stollery ED, when required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work (with Psychosocial Intervention Authorization), or Child and Youth Care Diploma, or relevant degree. Previous experience working with Child and Family Services and/or Multicultural groups, such as community, friendship, or settlement services.
