Required Qualifications:

MD eligible for licensure in Alberta. FRCP(C) with specialty in Public Health and Preventive Medicine (or equivalent). 10 years’ experience in the areas of public health and preventive medicine. Leadership skills, including demonstrated ability and comfort with decision making responsibilities, coaching and teaching, and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others. Demonstrated ability to manage change and create innovative solutions for complex and diverse issues. Demonstrated ability to manage human, financial and physical resources within an operating environment. Demonstrated ability to foster a climate of cooperation amongst, and strong track record in building solid relationships with public agencies, government, committees, and other external stakeholders. Demonstrated ability in conflict resolution and managing public health incidents/emergencies. Experience handling issues crossing zone boundaries, of provincial nature, and of substantial media impact.
