Required Qualifications:

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Completion of an accredited Unit Clerk Course or equivalent training program.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Experience with clerical duties in a medical environment. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, type minimum 40 net w.p.m. and operate a computer terminal and prioritize and organize workload within a dynamic work environment. Ability to remain calm while dealing with competing, time-sensitive priorities. Ability to maintain confidentiality of all patient information and health records. Ability to identify own strengths and weaknesses and showing initiative for improvement. Ability to work effectively and efficiently with others and accept change. Ability to be physically confined to an area due to job demands.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preference in hiring will be given to applicants with recent clerical experience working in an OR. Evidence of strong interpersonal and communication skills; initiative, flexibility, dependability in organizing and carrying out duties, thoroughness and attention to detail. Evidence of pleasant manner in relationships with patients, physicians, staff and public.
