Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Completion of an accredited Unit Clerk Course or equivalent training program.
Additional Required Qualifications:Ability to follow and handle advanced or specialized duties requiring extensive knowledge of the unit and AHS policies and procedures. Ability to exercise judgment, professionalism, diplomacy, discretion and maintain confidentiality at all times. Ability to build relationships by establishing and maintaining positive working relationships with others, both internally and externally, to achieve the goals of the department and AHS. Ability to cope under pressure, deal with stress effectively and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills with setting priorities to work productively and in a well-organized manner. Ability to balance numerous demands and conflicting priorities while working with frequent interruptions. Ability to take initiative, and manage work flow effectively. Strong computer skills with demonstrated proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), MS Project and MS Outlook.
Preferred Qualifications:Medical Terminology course and Medical Transcription would be an asset. Intermediate training or knowledge of computer technology and applications including but not limited to: MS Project, Oracle, i-Expense, Workforce ESP, ESP Self Service and e-People.
