Tissue Specialist I
Your Opportunity:
The incumbent is primarily responsible for the distribution of human tissue for transplantation, which includes receiving orders, working with clients to troubleshoot tissue shortages, tissue transfer and packing, arranging shipment, and handling any subsequent issues. The incumbent also participates in the recovery, processing, and preservation of human tissues for transplant. The incumbent also assists in the daily technical duties of the tissue bank and assists with programs and projects in support of the tissue bank (as needed).
Description:
As a Tissue Specialist I, you will be responsible for the recovery and processing of human tissues for transplant. As you will be working in a fast-paced environment, you will be required to participate in quality control and quality assurance processes and lab activities related to tissue banking.

Completion of Grade 12.
Additional Required Qualifications:Graduation from a health sciences degree program or related field that includes physiology or anatomy.
Preferred Qualifications:Previous operating room experience. Previous tissue banking experience. Certification as a Tissue Specialist, or equivalent, by a recognized Canadian or American organization. Knowledge of American Association of Tissue Banks and Health Canada Regulations / CSA Standards.
