Required Qualifications:

Completion of diploma from an accredited post-secondary rehabilitation Therapy Assistant program or equivalent training may be considered.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Therapeutic Recreation Assistant or equivalent diploma/certification from a recognized post secondary institution required. Minimum 1-year experience working in a Therapeutic Recreation position with seniors and/or individuals with challenges. Valid CPR certificate required (must achieve within 3-months). Proven organizational & time management skills. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills. Able to accept verbal and written instructions. Able to work with minimal supervision. Professional and courteous manner. Physically capable of pushing wheelchairs for an extended period of time and performing client transfers. Computer experience in Microsoft Word and Excel. Class 4 license required (must achieve within 3-month) and able to safely operate a Handibus. Preference will be given to candidates who currently hold these qualifications.

Preferred Qualifications:

Alberta Leadership and Fitness Certification with a specialty in Fitness for the Older Adult an asset. Knowledge of medical terminology an asset. Diploma from a recognized Recreation Therapy Assistant program. Previous experience in the field of Recreation is an asset.
