Required Qualifications:

Completion of diploma from an accredited post-secondary rehabilitation Therapy Assistant program or equivalent training may be considered.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Effective interpersonal and communication skills and an ability to prioritize and organize work assignments with minimal direction are required. Must be able to perform physically demanding activities such as patient transfers and assisting with mobility while applying appropriate body mechanics. Must have strong computer literacy and comfort with electronic documentation. Adaptability and an ability to work independently is essential. Knowledge of wheelchairs and adjustments required. Experience and comfort working with individuals with cognitive challenges such as dementia and mild cognitive impairment essential.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience working in a rehabilitation or long-term care setting across the lifespan would be a definite asset. Knowledge of mobile oxygen usage processes is an asset.
